Easter: Part I

This will probably be the first of several Easter posts, since we have lots of festivities in the upcoming days.  Today, I was fortunate enough to be able to work from home, so that I could go up to Austin's egg hunt at school this afternoon.  I'm so glad I was able to go! (Well, for one reason, nearly every kid had a parent there, so I would have felt terrible.)

The hunt didn't take long at all; these 2-year olds know exactly what to do!
One of the teachers dressed up as the Easter bunny, and well, I knew how that was going to go.  But Austin wasn't alone, only 3 kids in his class weren't terrified of the big bad bunny.  I guess it's just this age.

And not only did Austin get a bucket of eggs w/candy, one of his former teachers (who still spoils him way too much!) had a bag of goodies for him as well.  Pez candy dispenser, M&Ms, bubbles, and Rex (from Toy Story) roaring flashlight; she obviously knows the way to this kid's heart!  Thank you Miss Candace!!

Chase obviously didn't get to hunt eggs, but he brought home a gift for Mommy & Daddy.  I love that they do things like this!

Back to the Grind...

Back to work and already slacking off on my blog posting.  I was doing so good for awhile, but I guess that's when I had just a little bit more time on my hands.  I have a friend who does a blog post everyday.  I honestly don't know how she does it.

So, anyways, I'll keep this one short, because I brought some work stuff home to catch up on (yay!).  I have been cherishing every moment I have with my boys in the evenings since going back to work.

Chase is lovin' his jumperoo more and more everyday!

And Austin loves to play on the playset in the backyard in the evenings!

Smoothie King!

I decided this go-around that I was going to make baby food for Chase.  I mean, how hard can it be to steam some veggies and puree them?! And it seems like it would save alot of money, which I'm totally down for.  So, I decided to buy a 'Magic Bullet' to puree the foods.  I still have another few weeks before making food for Chase, so I decided to use it on everyday stuff.  Needless to say, Austin has become a fan of the smoothie!  In fact, he walked in our room at 4:45am the other morning asking me to make him a 'moothie'!  Yes, I would love to, but in two more hours, so get back in bed!! :)

As always, he insists on helping.....

Can you see me now?

Why, yes I can!!!  I hadn't been to the eye doctor since, oh, my sophomore year of high school.  My eyes weren't terrible back then, only having to wear glasses when reading.  But, high school kids can be cruel, so I abandoned them quickly.  Then life catches up to you, and quite honestly, going to the eye doctor was the least of my concerns.  But it was on my list of things to do while on maternity leave this time.  Of course, I waited til the last minute and finally went last week.  After paying for vision insurance for 6 1/2 years, I finally utilized my benefits.  And ta-da!  New glasses for me!  When I was on my laptop all day today at work, they made a world of a difference.  This is what everything was supposed to look like. :)

All About Puppies!

Yesterday we ventured up to our neighborhood park for the 'Furry Friends Festival'.  We loaded up the kids and the dog on what was sure to be an adventure.  Surprisingly, Brady was well-behaved for the most part up there around all the other dogs.  Well, besides the fact that he knocked over a perfectly good BBQ sandwich!

Austin loved seeing all the other puppies that everyone brought up there.  And there were some dogs ready to be adopted which he LOVED to pet.  Talk about pulling at your heart strings!  But one loud beagle is all I can handle right now.
Austin thought he wanted to get in the bounce house, but there were lots of other bigger kids in there that intimidated him.  And Chase, well, he just chilled in the stroller as we went along.  I can always count on him to behave. :)

Speaking of our loud beagle.  I know I give him a hard time when he just whines or howls for no good reason at all.  But he is wonderful with the boys and very protective.  Here he is curled up in the bed with Austin during nap time.

And watching over Chase when he was sick this weekend. :)

Parents' Night Out!

One of the many reasons why I love our daycare: Parents' Night Out! They typically do it once a month and we frequently take advantage of it. Last night, Jordan and I got to enjoy a great evening together, just relaxing. We ate a delicious dinner at a great Mexican restaurant, went to see The Lincoln Lawyer (pretty good!), and had a few drinks.  Nothing too crazy, but crazy enough for parents of two boys who rarely get a night off. :)
As usual, when we went to pick them up around 11pm, Austin was still wide awake and running around.  And surprisingly Chase was awake and smiling away.  And to make the evening even better, when I picked up Chase to smooch on him before we left, he vomited all over me! Not spit up, vomit. All over him, me, and the floor.  Whoopsie!  So I guess he has a little bit of an upset tummy but he still slept good last night. We'll see how he does today.

Well, we're off to the 'Fate Furry Friends Day' in our neighborhood, where you bring your dogs and there's lots of activities for the kiddos. Should be fun.

Gettin' their lean on.....

Last night while I was giving Chase a bath, I took a pic, and then uploaded to my computer to store in my monthly pics of him. I couldn't help but notice that he favored another certain little boy during bath time two years ago. Gosh!

Austin around 3 1/2 months......  Chase now at 3 1/2 months.....
