Sunshiney Days!

We've been taking advantage of the beautiful Texas weather this week and playing outside alot. Tonight I pulled out my handy dandy new (to me, anyways) stroller to take the boys for a walk around the neighborhood. As usual, Chase took a catnap and Austin sat on the little ledge and talked to me about everything we saw. Trucks, puppies, mowers, baseballs; we saw it all. He even pushed Chase for a short time to give Mommy a break. :)

Hats off to me!

Austin has been obsessed with wearing hats lately. Up until six months ago, he hated to wear toboggans, caps, hoodies or anything covering his head. With his growing collection of hats, I was getting tired of constantly picking them up. So, today I ventured to Hobby Lobby and picked up some supplies. $7, some decoupage & paint, and an hour later, wallah!

When I hung it up in his room tonight, he loved it and said, "Look at that Mommy!" He promptly hung all of his hats on it and was smiling ear to ear. :)

3 Months and Counting!

Ahhhhhh! Has it really been 3 months already?! It has truly flown by, alot faster than Austin's first few months. Maybe it's because I have Austin, so I can't dedicate 100% of my attention to Chase and soak up every moment. But I try my best. Juggling two kids has been an adjustment, but I think I've finally gotten the hang of it. I've certainly learned to let things go and not sweat the small stuff. Right now, I'm just trying to cherish everyday that we have left before Mommy goes back to work. :(

Chase is growing like a weed! He's about 13 1/2 lbs. now and really getting chunky. He averages anywhere from 8-10 hours sleeping at night, which I am so thankful for. I honestly don't know how I got so lucky with two kids that sleep so well. He's consistently drinking 8oz. of formula at a time, and I don't know where he puts it all! I'm just so thankful to have a healthy, happy baby. Chase is finally starting to give lots of smiles and loves to kick his little legs. And he has really grown to enjoy his baths, too. I am just so in love with this little peanut!

Working at the car wash.......

We continued making chores fun this weekend. All week, Austin was talking about washing Mommy's car this weekend. After I put Chase down for his morning nap on Saturday, Austin and I headed outside. It was another beautiful day and perfect for washing the car. He did a great job and his favorite part is using the water sprayer. We got a power washer for Christmas this year, but I didn't dare pull that out for him to use. And yes, he's still in his pajamas. Hey, it was 10am and we usually stay in our pj's until lunch on Saturday's. :) After washing the car, he insisted on climbing in the front driver seat to make sure the horn still worked and the wipers still moved back and forth. Thanks for Daddy putting him in the truck in the front seat one time, he has created a monster!

Mom on the Go!

Since the weather's been getting nicer, we've been spending alot more time outside in the evenings. Having two kids now, I knew I was going to have to invest in a good double stroller of some sort. I've seen a lot of other moms with the 'sit n stand' style strollers and thought they'd be perfect. But being the frugal accountant that I am, I wasn't willing to pay the prices Babies R' Us wanted for a new one. So, off to Craigslist to find something in good condition. There were a couple that I really liked that were decent prices, so I sent some emails. After two days, no response, so I moved on and found a great bargain. I ended up paying 1/3 of the price and it's in awesome condition. And I'm always cautious of buying things on Craigslist as far as safety goes. After all, I did just watch the Lifetime movie about the Craigslist killer! (Granted, I wasn't responding to 'adult ads', but one must always be skeptical!) I sent Jordan the lady's home address and phone #, so if I didn't call him shortly after I got there, he would know where to find me. Well, crisis averted; it was just a sweet young mom like me. :) I was excited to pick Austin up from school today so that we could try it out in the neighborhood. Jordan was at the Rangers game today, so I sprung for a Happy Meal for Austin on the way home. (I know; not the most nutritious, but he was good at school today.) After having yet another picnic in our driveway, we got settled into the new stroller and off we went. Whew! I didn't realize how heavy these kiddos were going to be together! Yikes, Mommy got a workout. Chase slept through our walk, but Austin enjoyed it. He tried both the sitting position and the standing on the pedestal. Score! I see lots more walks in our future. It's a great way to kill time when Jordan's working late and I'm solo with the boys.

Go Rangers!

In honor of the home-opener, everyone in the fam put on their Rangers gear this morning, and an impromptu photo shoot ensued. :) Then Jordan headed to the game, and I stayed home to clean out the flower beds and watch the boys. Doesn't quite sound like an even trade!
